The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders offers a minor in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, a Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology, a Doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree in Audiology, and a PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

For undergraduate students who are interested in declaring a Minor in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, this option includes an 18 credit sequence of courses that fulfills the undergraduate prerequisites for admission to graduate programs in the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders (although declaring the Minor does not ensure admission to any graduate program). The minor provides an overview and critical foundational knowledge about normal development and disorders of communication through the lifespan, diagnosis and treatment of communication disorders, research, professionals in the field, as well as work settings and opportunities. The minor also complements related fields of study that include Inclusive and Early Childhood Education, Family studies, Sociology/Social Work, Linguistics, Biology, Psychology, Child Advocacy, Gerontology and others. The CAA-accredited MA program in Speech-Language Pathology provides students with the coursework and clinical experiences needed to become certified and licensed Speech-Language Pathologists.  They will be prepared to provide services to individuals with speech, language and hearing challenges. The program prepares students to provide services to individuals, their families and significant others across the lifespan.

The CAA-accredited AuD program in Audiology provides students with coursework and clinical experiences needed to become certified and licensed Audiologists. They will be prepared to provide diagnostic and rehabilitative services to individuals with hearing loss or vestibular disorders. The program prepares students to provide services to individuals, their families and significant others across the lifespan.

The PhD program in Communication Sciences and Disorders is the only program in New Jersey that provides students with advanced coursework, study, and research in selected aspects of communication sciences or communication disorders. Graduates will be prepared to enter the workforce as academic faculty and independent researchers.
