Students may take a number of general courses that give an overview of the field. This minor allows students to understand the field in its broadest context within the society.

The Music Literature minor provides students with a basic understanding of music theory through an analysis of how music is structured. The coursework does not include performance training, but serves to increase students' knowledge as listeners or performers.
