Profile
Robert J. Reid, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Family Science and Human Development, College for Community Health at Montclair State University, where he has been on faculty since 2005. His research has focused on developing, coordinating, and testing community-wide prevention initiatives to reduce risk and promote protective factors associated with various adverse health outcomes, such as adolescent substance use, sexual risk, and youth violence. His research has helped influence public policy and has been cited by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), and the World Health Organization (WHO). Dr. Reid has served as Principal Investigator on multiple federally-funded projects for twenty-two consecutive years, securing more than $10 million in funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP).
