Dr. Tom Killian is an Assistant Professor of Counseling in the Department of Counseling within the College for Community Health. He earned a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision with a minor in Applied Statistics and Research Methods from the University of Northern Colorado. He also holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Mississippi.

Dr. Killian is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with diagnostic privilege (LMHC-D) in New York, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey, and a Board Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC). He has over a decade of clinical experience in various settings, including university counseling and psychological services, a university athletic department, and a residential facility. In addition to his academic role, he owns and operates a private practice in Montclair, New Jersey.
