Procurement Services Update
- The University requires departments to purchase from contracted vendors for several goods and services. View the active supplier contracts page for more information.
- Printing and photocopying suppliers have changed. Please be sure you are utilizing the correct contracts below:
- UNC # 1591 – Digital Printing & Photocopying – In conjunction with University Communications and Marketing, a contract has been awarded to KM Media Group LLC dba One Source Solutions for digital printing and photocopying, binding, and specialty services. These services were previously with Studio 042. Please find 1591 Digital Printing & Photocopying Job Aid for additional information. In addition, the University will be working towards a punchout catalog for this supplier and will advise the community when this implementation is completed.
- UNC # 1595 – Custom Printing Services – In conjunction with University Communications and Marketing, contracts have been awarded to 4 suppliers for custom printing services ,including flyers, posters, brochures, newsletters, envelopes, finishing services, and more. Please find 1595 Custom Printing Services Job Aid for additional information.

- Joel Penney (Communication and Media), is quoted in this New York Times story about Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris. Penney was also interviewed on a recent episode of the journalism podcast “Laid Off and Looking” about his research on entertainment journalism and its role in political discourse, and his 2022 book Pop Culture, Politics, and the News.
- Keith Strudler (Communication and Media), appeared on WAMC Northeast Public Radio to discuss the New York Jets.
- Jaime Grinberg (Educational Foundations), was interviewed for an NJ Spotlight News piece on public protests intended to pressure the Israeli government into a hostage deal.
- Gabriel Rubin (Justice Studies), is quoted and has research highlighted in an article in The Chronicle of Higher Education about the subtle crisis of students becoming increasingly cynical about the value of college and transactional in their approach to learning.
Kudos
- To Roman Liera (Educational Leadership), who received a two year grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to study the possibilities of faculty cluster hiring initiatives in advancing racial equity.
- To Frank Marino (University Police), who is retiring after 35 years of service to Montclair. His clap out will be held at the Police Substation located in Abbott and Costello Hall on Monday, September 30 at 1 p.m.
- To Doreen Liou (Nutrition and Food Studies), whose research study on COVID-19 related beliefs and health behaviors among Montclair undergraduate students published in the science journal PLOS ONE.
- To Casey Coleman (Center for Student Involvement), and University volunteers who assisted with the “Ask Me Booths” during opening. This year, over 4,145 questions were asked and answered during the first 5 days of classes.
- To Warren Rigby (Voter and Civic Engagement), Martina Santia (Political Science and Communication) and Fanny Lauby (Political Science), who moderated and co-hosted a presidential debate watch party on Tuesday, September 10, attended by over 150 students.
