Important Updates

  • To prepare for the 2023 tax season, log into Workday to review and update all personal information by Friday, December 15 for accuracy, year-end reporting and W-2 distribution. To avoid waiting for your 2023 W2 to arrive by mail, you can opt to go paperless and receive your W2 electronically via Workday. The deadline to choose the paperless W-2 option for the 2023 tax year is Friday, January 5, 2024. For questions, contact Workday Support at: wccsupport@montclair.edu or 973-655-5000, option 3.
  • Instructional Technology and Design Services invites you to the Annual Spring Teaching Symposium on Tuesday, January 9. This virtual faculty development event will feature external speakers, faculty presentations, instructional technology workshops and more. For registration, the full agenda and more information, visit the annual spring symposium webpage.
  • Faculty and staff are invited to submit publications to be entered in the University Authors Recognition Program. Published monographs, textbooks, exhibit catalogs and/or produced creative endeavors resulting in CDs or DVDs in 2023 or 2024 are eligible. To submit publications, use this form. For media (CDs, DVDs), use this form. Submission deadline is January 31, 2024. Publications will be listed in Montclair State University Digital Commons.   • Join the Office for Experiential Education and Career Connections for a discussion with John Ehret, labor market analyst with the New Jersey Department of Labor, who will explore the evolving employment landscape and trends.   • Mindfulness Meditation is held every Monday online, 12-12:30 p.m. and open to all with an interest in learning about meditation and developing mindfulness. Register here.

  • To the Center for Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology for being selected as a gold winner for the Suburban Essex Readers’ Choice Awards Best of Essex 2023.
  • To Robert Reid and Pauline Garcia-Reid (Family Science and Human Development), who presented their research on battling and preventing substance misuse in Paterson, New Jersey, through Project C.O.P.E. (Communities Organizing for Prevention and Empowerment).
  • To Jason Williams (Justice Studies), who was appointed to the New Jersey Restorative and Transformative Justice Coordinating Council. The council will provide a forum for leaders to share information, engage in thought partnership and establish evaluation protocols.
  • To Robert Taylor (Earth and Environmental Studies), who presented his paper on “Green Entrepreneurship and Climate Change Resilience for Emerging Economies,” at the Ontario International Development Agency’s International Conference on Sustainable Development.
  • To Laura Quiros (Social Work and Child Advocacy), who was featured in Skidmore College’s Scope magazine for her work in diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • To Olena Nesteruk (Family Science and Human Development), who was the first place winner of the 2023 Cognella Innovation in Teaching Awards for Family Science in partnership with the National Council on Family Relations. She was recognized for implementing an international Pen Pal Project with her Immigrant Families class.
