  • Carlos E. Gonzalez ’11 and Melody Marti ’18 stopped by their alma mater to speak with ABC 7 Eyewitness News’ Toni Yates to reflect on their time as students and as cast members of West Side Story. The package also features a cameo from College of the Arts Dean Dan Gurskis.
  • Stephanie Silvera (Public Health) is quoted in this NJ.com article about the impact of the new omicron variant on the Latino community, which has already been battered by COVID-19. You can also read additional commentary from Silvera here, and watch her on Fox News 10 (in Phoenix, Ariz.) here.
  • Jessica Henry (Justice Studies) recently gave a TEDx Talk titled, “No-Crime Wrongful Convictions” as part of the grassroots initiative that brings TED Talks to local communities. Watch her full Talk here.

To avoid waiting for your 2021 W2 to arrive by mail, you can opt to go paperless and receive your W2 electronically. It saves paper and helps reduce costs.

  • To Hila Berger, director of Research Compliance, and Jason Williams, IRB member and associate professor of Justice Studies, who both presented recently at the Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R) international ethics conference.
  • To Evan Matthews, assistant professor of Exercise Science and Physical Education, who was recently awarded Fellowship status with the American College of Sports Medicine.
  • To University Police Captains Derrick Byrd and Tim Fox, Lieutenant Lee Castro, Detective Nicolette Aponte, Officer Richard Williams and Officer Jeff Struble for responding to the fire in Einstein Hall on December 10.
  • To Officer Jefferson Choi, whose quick actions helped contain the fire. Wishing him a speedy recovery from smoke inhalation, and thanks to all police, firefighters and EMS personnel who helped protect our students.
  • To Jeanine Stroh, Kevin Schafer, Brent Johnson and the team in Residence Life, who helped evacuate students, ensured students could get belongings from their rooms, and coordinated the relocation of all impacted students to Stone Hall.
  • To Robert Ferrara and the fire marshals, who assisted the Fire Department in ensuring the building was safe for reentry and worked to determine the cause of the fire.
