Last Chance to Order Commencement Regalia
Faculty participating in the academic processional must wear academic regalia. The deadline to order your regalia is Friday, November 8, 2024. Orders will not be accepted after this date. All orders will be shipped directly to the University Bookstore and may be picked up at the Graduation Fair:
- Bloomfield Campus (Bloomfield faculty only): Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 12-6 p.m. in Deacon’s Den,Talbott Hall
- Montclair Campus (Montclair or Bloomfield faculty): Monday, December 16, 2024 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. in the Student Center Ballrooms
All regalia must be returned at the conclusion of your participation in Commencement. University Bookstore representatives will be at Commencement in the robing room.
RSVP for the President’s Winter Celebration

Textbook Adoptions for Spring Semester
Faculty teaching winter session and spring semester courses can order textbooks and course materials from the University Bookstore. When faculty adopt textbooks through Follett, the University’s exclusive textbook and course materials provider, students benefit by being able to:
- easily see and obtain books and materials needed on both the University Bookstore website and in Canvas.
- seamlessly use financial aid dollars to cover textbook costs.
- access textbook scholarships that are only accepted at the University Bookstore.
How to use Follett Discover to adopt your textbooks and course materials:
- Log into Canvas with your Net ID and password.
- Select “Follett Discover” from the left-side menu.
- Start discovering!

- Brigid Harrison (Political Science and Law), appeared on CBS News to discuss key Congressional races.
- Fanny Lauby (Political Science), spoke to France 24 about the presidential election.
- Ethan Hein (Adjunct, Cali School of Music), wrote a piece for Music Radar about bassist Phil Lesh’s greatest moments with the Grateful Dead.
- A recent piece by Sylvia Martinez (University Communications and Marketing), about Montclair fashion students and Abby Lillethun’s (Fashion Design and Merchandising) style analysis of Kamala Harris and Donald Trump was cited in an article published by the USC Annenberg School for Communication about the politics of style for women in the White House.

- James Perosi-Doughty (Adjunct, World Languages and Cultures), was interviewed on RCF Radio about this year’s US presidential elections.

- To Jordanna Maziarz (Undergraduate Admissions) and Wendy Lin-Cook (Enrollment Management), who presented on leadership during times of ambiguity at the annual American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers (AACRAO), Strategic Enrollment Management Conference.
- To Ashlee Martellacci (Social Work and Child Advocacy), who served as a panelist at the 2024 New York Foundling’s Annual Mel Schneiderman Professional Conference at New York University. She shared her insights and experience on educating youth about child sexual abuse and exploitation, along with tools and strategies for initiating sensitive conversations with children and families.
- To Laura Quiros (Social Work and Child Advocacy), who ran and completed the 2024 New York City Marathon running for Project Renewal, an organization that provides services for the public to reduce homelessness in New York City.
- To Tracy Rusen (University Communications and Marketing), who completed her first New York City Marathon last Sunday, running for the AIDS Foundation Chicago which supports people affected by HIV/AIDS.
