Reminders
- The Division of Human Resources is opening an on-campus office at 18 Normal Avenue beginning Monday, December 5. Services available include assistance with employee benefits, I-9 enrollment, payroll matters, tuition waivers and more.
- Did you know you can easily access technology market research and trend analysis from Gartner? Log in to the Gartner Campus Access Portal with your NetID and password for vendor analysis, technology white papers, real-world use cases and other market research.
- Facilities staff are working to replace the campus shuttle bus tracking app. In the meantime, if you need to use the shuttle, you can find the schedule here.
- The Bonner Leader Program is hosting a winter toy drive through December 14 for the East Orange Community Development Corporation. To donate, drop off unwrapped toys at the Center for Community Engagement in Cole Hall 348.
- Information Technology will be migrating the “MSUFiles” file server to a new storage platform with better performance and reliability starting this Friday, December 2 through Sunday, December 4. During that time, you won’t be able to access files stored on that server. Refer to the email from IT dated November 28 for more information.
- If you’re teaching during the Winter Session, check out the December 9 Friday with ITDS: Preparing for Winter Session Teaching at 10 a.m.
- Free flu shots for employees are available Monday – Friday, 9 a.m – 4 p.m. in the Occupational Health Suite, Blanton Hall, 1st Floor. No appointment is necessary.
- You can find the latest campus COVID-19 data, including case numbers, on the COVID-19 Dashboard.
- With the winter closing approaching, Human Resources asks all employees to review the instructions for timekeeping.
- If you or a loved one is experiencing a mental health crisis or thinking about suicide, call or text 988, the new nationwide 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline for free, confidential support, 24/7.

- To Paul McGroarty (University Communications and Marketing) and his student social media team for producing two TikTok viral hits this month: “Do you know your child’s major?” (3.3M views) and “Can you pronounce this New Jersey town?” (1M views)
- To Dawn Marie Hayes (History) whose article about the initial findings of her NEH-funded project, “The Norman Sicily Project: Deriving Meaning from the Prototype’s Data,” was published in the journal Kalkas.
- To Matt Pierce (University Communications and Marketing), Sharif Akkara (Information Technology) and Maria C. Anderson (University Counsel) who worked to improve the accessibility of the University’s website for persons with disabilities. Their efforts were recently praised by the U.S. Department of Education.
- To Meiyin Wu (Biology) who was chosen by the Alliance for NJ Environmental Education for its 2022 Excellence in Environmental Education Award.
