• Kevin Riordan (Accounting and Finance) was interviewed by digital media company Bisnow.com about the investigation into former President Trump’s commercial properties (the article requires a free account sign-up to read).
• Bond Benton (Communication and Media) and Daniela Peterka-Benton (Justice Studies) are quoted in this New York Times article about the resurfacing of the figure behind the QAnon conspiracy theory.
• Jason Williams (Justice Studies) wrote an opinion piece for the New Jersey Monitor about the SCOTUS’ recent ruling that the right to bear arms extends beyond one’s residence. He was also quoted in a New Jersey Monitor article on the subject.
• Katia Paz Goldfarb (Hispanic Initiatives) was interviewed by ABC 7’s “Tiempo with Joe Torres” leading up to this month’s Hispanic Student College Institute. She also was interviewed on Univision New York about the program.
• Francesca Laguardia (Justice Studies) appeared on NJ On Air (begins at 6:00) to discuss the impact of the Roe v. Wade decision. She also co-authored an opinion piece for NJ.com about the serious health risks associated with pregnancy.
• Matthew Aardema (Biology) is quoted in this Washington Post article about how to get rid of mosquitoes without harming pollinators.
• Eva Goldfarb (Public Health) is quoted in this USA TODAY article about when and how to talk to kids about sex at different development stages. She also contributed a piece to NJ.com about how to talk to kids about abortion.
• Matthew Schuler (Biology) is quoted in this subscriber-only article in the Asbury Park Press about an increase in reports of bear sightings in towns along the Jersey Shore.
• Paul Bologna (Biology) and Montclair High School students in our Weston Science Scholars partnership program were featured in this NBC New York segment on clinging jellyfish.

• Testing on the Banner system on Wednesday, July 27 will lead to a three- to four-hour outage on Banner services (including NEST) starting at 8 p.m. Check your email for more information.
• The Center for Community Engagement and the Volunteer Center are partnering with MedShare to help provide medical supplies for the war in Ukraine. They are collecting gauze from now until August 8 at donation box locations: CSI 104J, Cole Hall 131 and Overlook Floor 3, or find out more about donations here.

• To Lavone Broxton (Postal and Warehouse Services) for being honored by the National Association of Colleges and University Mail Services, which recognizes excellence in management and those who have made significant contributions to their institutions. Broxton’s many accomplishments include establishing a campus passport service and making Montclair the first college in NJ to bring Amazon lockers to campus.
• To Gina Miele (World Languages and Cultures) who was featured in a Sardinian newspaper about Sardinian folklore, the critical study of documents relating to saints (hagiography), folk medicine and endemic Sardinian medicinal plants.
• To Stefanie Batten Bland (Theatre and Dance), whose new show “Embarqued: Stories of Soil” will premier Nov. 1 – 5 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music as part of its Next Wave 2022 series.
• To Milton Fuentes (Psychology), whose recent scholarly collaboration has produced a concentrated series of books published by Rutgers University Press examining child maltreatment at the intersection of feminism, multiculturalism and social justice.
