- Janet Ruane (Sociology) co-wrote a piece for The Conversation, which was picked up by Yahoo! News, about how race, class and gender influence your dreams for the future.
- Charles Feldman (Nutrition and Food Studies) provided MarthaStewart.com with advice on how to grocery shop to minimize food waste.
- Matthew Aardema (Biology) is quoted in this NorthJersey.com article about the return of the spotted lanternfly. The story was also mentioned on WCBS Radio 880, USA Today (the nation’s largest circulation newspaper) and Yahoo! News, which reaches some 66 million visitors each month. Remember, if you spot one, stomp it out!
- Michael Hannon (Counseling) was interviewed by The New York Times about his work editing a new book of essays, Black Fathering and Mental Health, focusing on how Black men can attend to their mental health while growing their families. Hannon also discussed the book with WHYY, Philadelphia’s powerhouse NPR station.
- Leslie Wilson (History) contributed to a HuffPost roundup of the best kids’ books about Juneteenth according to Black educators.
- Jason Williams (Justice Studies) wrote an opinion piece for NJ.com in honor of the Juneteenth holiday.

- You can check the COVID-19 Dashboard to find the latest campus COVID data, including case numbers.
- We no longer use the University logo with the horizontal rule separating the two lines. If your unit still uses name badges with that logo, please replace them. Just follow these easy online instructions.
- University Communications and Marketing sets aside a few days each month for our campus partners to have headshots taken. Here’s how to schedule a headshot appointment.
- The Center for Community Engagement and The Volunteer Center are partnering with MedShare to help provide medical supplies for the war in Ukraine and collecting supplies through June 30. - Members of the Montclair community are invited to meet the participants of the 2022 Hispanic Student College Institute (HSCI) on Wednesday, July 13 from 5 – 6:30 p.m. in the University Conference Center. Register here.
- Planned network maintenance on July 15 and July 22 will result in network outages and connectivity issues from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Testing on the Banner system on July 21 and July 27 will lead to a three- to four-hour outage on Banner services (including NEST) starting at 8 p.m. Check your email for more information.

- To Inserra Chair in Italian and Italian American Studies Teresa Fiore, who recently concluded a semester as a visiting professor at Yale University. She taught a graduate seminar entitled “Transnational Italy: Imperial Legacies and Migratory Routes” in the Department of Italian Studies.
- To the Undergraduate and Graduate Enrollment teams. Compared to this time last year, overall undergraduate enrollment is ahead by 10% and overall graduate enrollment is 3% ahead.
- To Associate Professor Mayida Zaal, (Teaching and Learning), who recently spoke at a STEM Exploration Session hosted by the American Association of University Women (AAUW) on the theme of STEMEd for Girls.
- To Center for Autism and Early Childhood Mental Health Director Kaitlin Mulcahey, who was recently awarded a grant for a project entitled “Partnership between the NJ Department of Health and the Center for Autism and Early Childhood Mental Health at Montclair State University.”
