Policy Studies Major Launch

CHSS Launches Policy Studies Major

State Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin, Assemblywoman Mila Jasey and Assemblyman Thomas Giblin visited campus last week to help launch the College of Humanities and Social Sciences’ new Policy Studies major, with Coughlin participating in a salon-style conversation with Political Science Department Chairperson Brigid Callahan Harrison.

Character Counts

RYTE Institute co-directors and CEHS professors Miriam Linver and Jennifer Brown Urban received a $150,000 grant from the Kern Family Foundation to support their research into factors that influence character development in adolescents.

  • To Patricia Matthew (English), who is one of 33 scholars nationwide selected for a 2022-2023 fellowship at the National Humanities Center, and the first from Montclair. Matthew will use the fellowship to work on her project, “Gender, Sugar, and the Afterlives of Abolition.”
