International Engagement is thrilled to announce that Sydnie Bennett was awarded the Baden-Wurttemberg Foundation scholarship for her study abroad at the University of Konstanz, an exchange partner of Montclair State University.
Bennett, a rising Junior majoring in Psychology, plans to study abroad at Konstanz for the full 2019-2020 Academic Year. The scholarship provides students with a 700 euro/month stipend for five months.
Bennett plans to study neuropsychology with hopes of becoming a neurosurgeon. She is currently looking at medical schools to apply to and says Germany has piqued her interest.
“Studying at Konstanz would allow me to learn more about neuroscience while also giving me the ability to tour one of the medical schools that I am interested in,” explained Bennett.
Bennett jumped at the chance to study abroad for a full academic year.
As she describes, “…my friends motivated me to study abroad for a full year. I have some friends who have lived in or traveled to Germany and they talk about it like it is one of the best countries to visit. They talked about beautiful cities, kind people, great food, an amazing education system, and several other positive attributes of the country. I had to see what it was like for myself and a full year gives me time to explore more of the country.”
