Zoom the Red Hawk Way!
Are You Getting the Most Out of Your Zoom Calls?
Posted in: Academic, Featured News, Red Hawk News
We’re all into the Zoom, for academic, professional and personal connection. Since 2019 the number of Zoom users has grown from 10 million to over 300 million! Video conference has been a lifeline for us all, during the COVID pandemic, but are you getting the most out of your Zoom calls?
Do It Right!
- Look’n Good: Dress up. Makes you look good and feel good.
- Be Prepared: It’s a class…or a meeting…whether in person or virtually.
- Participation Counts: Put away your phone. Look at the speaker. Listen. Get involved (but don’t interrupt a speaker).
- Use a Computer: Phones and tablets don’t do Zoom well at all. Need to borrow a Chromebook? Contact IT about laptop loans. (And they also have WiFi cards to loan!)
Don’t Do It Wrong!
- Don’t Hide: Turn your video and audio on, but be ready to mute when you’re not speaking! Nobody wants to hear unwanted background noise.
- Don’t Ghost: It’s completely rude to stay logged into Zoom but disappear. Be there the entire time, totally!
- Silly Backgrounds: Keep it professional. No comic virtual backgrounds, please!
