Fall 2023 Official Bill Now Available
Information on Tuition, Fees, Room, Board and Health Insurance Costs.

Your bill for the fall 2023 semester is now available in NEST. The due date for your fall 2023 payment is Monday, August 14, 2023.
Bill Details
This bill reflects your balance using costs including tuition, fees and the University health insurance premium for full-time* students, plus any applicable housing and meal plans. You may use this bill for your financial planning before the payment deadline and as a point of reference when requesting funds from a 529 Plan, private loans, financial aid, etc.
*Full-time student status for health insurance is considered twelve (12) or more credits for undergraduate students and nine (9) or more credits for graduate students.
Finding Your Bill
- Log into NEST using your University NetID and password.
- Navigate to the “Student Accounts” web page at the left-hand side.
- Navigate to the “View My Bill” portlet and select “View Statement and Payment History.”
- Select “View Activity.” Here you will see your fall 2023 bill which is based on your enrolled credits, fees, financial aid, room and meal plans if applicable.
- Your charges and payments are reflected in real-time on NEST. Please go to NEST to view any changes made to your schedule and bi-monthly invoices which are emailed (on the 1st and 15th) to your Montclair State University email address.
Payment Due Date
The due date for your fall 2023 payment is Monday, August 14, 2023. If you enroll in a payment plan, please refer to the payment schedule that is emailed to your Montclair State email address upon successful enrollment.
Payment Options
Payments can be mailed or made online via NEST. You may use any one form or a combination of payment options below to satisfy your bill. For more information on payment options, please visit the Payment Options web page.
- Cash: You may pay with cash at the Cashier’s Window, in person at Red Hawk Central
- Check/Money Order:
- Make a check/money order payable to Montclair State University.
- Please include your CWID number on the check/money order.
- Payments can be mailed to Montclair State University, Cashier’s Office, 1 Normal Avenue, Montclair, NJ 07043.
- Electronic Check (E-Check) or Credit/Debit Card:
- All E-Check or credit card payments must be made on NEST through TouchNet.
- Please Note: Credit/Debit cards are not accepted at the Cashier’s Window.
- E-Check payments will be processed at no additional cost.
- When paying by credit/debit card there is a non-refundable convenience fee charged by our credit card servicer of 2.95% of your payment (there is a minimum payment of $.50 with a $3.00 fee when using a credit card).
- All E-Check or credit card payments must be made on NEST through TouchNet.
- PayMyTuition – an international payment gateway
- PayMyTuition is a secure, easy-to-use, seamless solution that allows our international students to make tuition payments in their local currency, from any country, at an economically feasible bank exchange rate.
Need a Payment Plan?
The University offers TouchNet Installment Payment Plans and they are officially open now! You can enroll in one (1) plan for one (1) semester at a time. Financial Aid Options to Pay Your Bill
- Your Federal Direct Loans as offered – view on NEST.
- Your parents can consider a Federal Direct PLUS Loan. If they are denied based on credit, you will receive additional unsubsidized loan funds in your name.
- Any creditworthy borrower or you with a credit worthy cosigner can consider an alternative loan.
Important Notes About Your Bill
- Please ensure you review the Montclair State University Financial Responsibility Agreement.
- This bill shows your financial aid (as of now) that will be applied to your account and the resulting net amount that will be due.
- Any adjustments to your fall 2023 schedule (e.g. adding or dropping courses, changing housing or your meal plan), may affect your bill. If you maintain 12-18 credits the flat rate cost for tuition and fees for undergraduate students will not change.
- Recent Parent PLUS or private loan applications may not be reflected in the estimated aid amount on this bill.
- Students are billed on a semester basis (fall, winter, spring and summer). Montclair State University reserves the right to change tuition, fees, health insurance premium and room and board every academic year.
- Note for freshmen beginning this summer or fall: If your bill states that you are registered part-time, or states that there is no bill because you do not yet have a class schedule, please contact your academic college’s success center for support:

Health Insurance Waiver/Enrollment Information
You will receive a separate email about waiving or enrolling in the University Health Insurance Plan, soon! All full-time students are required to have health insurance.
