Health Update

Vaccination for COVID-19 is the best way to keep our campus community safe, and to provide you with a fully normal, in-person educational experience that you want and deserve.

This is why the University has required all students enrolled for the fall semester 2021 to submit proof that they have been vaccinated for COVID-19 in the MyHealth portal. View requirements and how to submit your documentation.

More than 75% of you have done so. We thank you for that.

Vaccination Documentation Submission Deadline

For those students who have not yet submitted their proof, we are extending the deadline to Monday, August 16. By that date, you must upload a vaccination card showing that you have received two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Please Note: The deadline to submit an exemption application for medical or religious reasons is Sunday, August 1, 2021.

If you have not done so, or do not have an approved exemption on file with the University Health Center, the University will cancel your registration for fall courses and you will not be allowed to move into the residence halls.

If you have already submitted your documentation to your MyHealth portal please do not resubmit. Log into the MyHealth Portal, go to “My Profile” and go to “Images.” If you are able to see your documents then they are properly submitted.

Exemptions

The COVID vaccination requirement applies to every student: undergraduate and graduate, commuter and residential, full-time and part-time. The only exceptions are:

  1. Students enrolled in fully online programs that offer no on-campus instruction, activities, or services. These are designated programs. You must be enrolled in a fully online degree or certificate program to meet this exemption. See list of approved fully online programs.
  2. Students who qualify under New Jersey law for medical or religious exemptions. The request for an exception for medical or religious reasons must be filed with the University no later than Sunday, August 1, 2021.

The University Health Center website has information on how to upload your proof of vaccination, and how to file a request for an exemption for medical or religious reasons. Please visit this site for more information. You can find information about filing for exemptions here on the University Health Center’s Immunization web page.

Rules for Unvaccinated Students

Students who are not vaccinated and have been approved for a medical or religious exemption must adhere to certain restrictions, such as wearing a face mask at all times while indoors, residents must live in a single bedroom and be tested regularly for COVID-19. Other restrictions specific to participation in intercollegiate sports and club sports and performance arts, also will apply. For full details view the Fall COVID Vaccination Restrictions Policy web page.
