Appointments
The Student Health Center (SHC) strives to meet your healthcare needs in a reasonable time frame. Every attempt is made to provide the earliest available time based on urgency and the student’s class/work commitments. Most students can be seen for an illness or injury within 24 hours of their request. Routine preventive care appointments may require longer.
UHC is committed to seeing all patients in a timely manner so that a long wait is not experienced. Most appointments are 30 minutes in length. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time to complete or update paperwork, call if you need to cancel your appointment, or keep us informed if you cannot arrive on time. Late arrivals may be asked to reschedule. All students must present a current Montclair State University ID and their health insurance card at the time of the visit.
Scheduling an Appointment
Call us to schedule an appointment: 973-655-4361
It is important for students requesting an appointment to clearly state the reason for the visit so the appointment can be scheduled with the appropriate clinician. All information is kept confidential and front desk receptionists are trained to understand your specific health care needs.
Confidentiality
All medical records at the UHC are kept strictly confidential and follow the recommended guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rules related to the use and disclosure of information. Information about your care is not recorded in any University records nor can any information be shared with other individuals, including a parent or guardian, without a written consent from the student. The only exception to this confidentiality regulation would be if a student was deemed unsafe to him/her self or others. This policy applies to all care provided by the UHC including sexual assault response services.
