Dr. Roger Zapata, full-time faculty member, along with Samantha Rodriguez, who is both a Spanish minor in the Spanish Translation Certification program and a SLTS work study student, led a presentation about SLTS for a group of 50 students. They are all members of Hackensack High School’s Spanish Honor Society and were joined by their teachers (one of whom is a MSU alum and former adjunct Edvane Colacino).
After the presentation Ms. Colacino thanked the department: “My students loooooved Dr. Zapata and Samantha’s presentation. It was so informative, and the students loved being there. I have never seen my students sooo happy. . . . It was a wonderful way to bond with them in a different setting. It was sooo successful hope you and Dr. Zapata allow us to go back next year. . . .Thank you for helping me to make a difference in the Hackensack High School Spanish Honor Society members’ life.”
