Advanced Standing Program:
The MSW Advanced standing program is a 33 credit program. All courses are 3 credits.
Part-time program: 2 years
Students complete 11 courses over 2 years, four semesters (fall and spring).
Year 1: Course topics include child and family policy, assessment and diagnosis, and child abuse and neglect. Students also take three electives.
Year 2: Students obtain training in specialized clinical practice with children, youth and families. Students participate in a supervised clinical practicum at an agency serving children, adolescents and/or families for approximately 21 hours per week.

Academic Credit for Life/Work Experience
Please note that MSU does not grant any academic credit for life experience or previous work experience. This applies to all required and elective courses in the MSW program (two-year and Advanced Standing), and to practicum education hours. No exceptions to this policy will be granted for any reason.
