MSW Advanced Standing Full-time (1 year)

Advanced Standing Program:
The MSW Advanced standing program is a 33 credit program. All courses are 3 credits.

Full-time program: 1 year
Students complete 11 courses over 1 year, three semesters (summer, fall and spring).

Summer: Students take Social Work Diagnosis and Assessment

Fall and Spring: Students obtain training in specialized clinical practice with children, youth and families. Course topics include clinical practice, family interventions, child and family policy, and child abuse and neglect. Students also participate in a supervised clinical practicum at an agency serving children, adolescents and/or families for approximately 21 hours per week.

Academic Credit for Life/Work Experience

Please note that MSU does not grant any academic credit for life experience or previous work experience. This applies to all required and elective courses in the MSW program (two-year and Advanced Standing), and to education hours. No exceptions to this policy will be granted for any reason.
