Deepening diversity, enhancing equity, increasing inclusion and building belonging in the University community
Everyone who works, lives or attends Montclair State University deserves to feel that their presence is appreciated here and that they have full access to all the opportunities that the University provides. While Montclair has made considerable strides towards this important goal over many years, there’s always more we can and should do.
To identify what’s working and where our efforts can be enhanced, during the academic year 2022-23, the University will gather information about our campus climate around diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. The information will be used to support positive change as we work together to further strengthen our inclusivity and belonging.
President Koppell has appointed Dr. Ashante Connor, Director of Equity and Title IX Coordinator in Human Resources to lead the project. She is supported by an Operations and Logistics Committee of faculty, staff and administrators. The University has selected SOVA Solutions as its partner. SOVA’s people are higher education professionals who specialize in helping colleges and universities with projects like this one.
