Public Speaking Resource Center

The Public Speaking Resource Center is open to all university students, faculty, and staff that are preparing to speak publicly. Experienced speech consultants assist with all aspects of the speech preparation process including topic selection, research, outlining, and delivery. Working with a speech consultant provides individuals and groups invaluable feedback and also diminishes speech anxiety. Whether you are giving an individual or group presentation in class, presenting at an academic conference, conducting a training session, giving a toast, developing an elevator pitch, interviewing, or speaking to your group/organization we can help you feel prepared and confident.

Tuesday: 12:45 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. (Prof. Gai Grannon)
Wednesday: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Prof. Gai Grannon)
Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Tiffannie Coy)
Friday: 12:45 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. (Prof. Gai Grannon)

In-person and Zoom sessions available

Sessions

  • Speech consultants will be in the Public Speaking Resource Center during our hours of operation and available for an in-person meeting or Zoom appointment.
  • In-person session: We see students on a walk-in basis for in-person sessions. You will begin your session immediately if the consultant is not assisting another student.
  • Zoom session: If you wish to arrange a Zoom session you must email the consultant available at your desired time providing at least 48 hours notice. The consultant will email you back confirming your appointment and providing you with their Zoom link.
