Transferring to Montclair State University [from Pace University in] my sophomore year of college was the best decision I could have made for my career. As a journalism student in the School of Communication and Media, I’ve been given the opportunity to learn from some of the most esteemed professionals in the industry, both inside and outside of the classroom.

The MSU School of Communication and Media provided me with an immersive multi-media perspective on the ever-evolving world of journalism, through both highly-engaging coursework and the opportunity to complete several internships. My first of four internships was at Backstage, where I was given the opportunity to work on multiple articles a week and interview a number of professional working actors. Although I finished my internship there in December of 2015, I still write for the magazine as a freelance journalist. I then moved to work as a features intern at one of my favorite magazines growing up – Seventeen. Finally, I finished out my college career with back-to-back internships at Warner Music Group, working in the Publicity and A&R departments.

I feel very lucky to have learned from so many incredible professors at MSU and will cherish the hands on experience I’ve been able to gain in my field.
