Award-Winning Production Designer Gives Workshop to Filmmaking Students

Award Winning Production Designer Naomi Shohan presented a half-day workshop on "Production Designers in Conversation With Directors" for the SCM Filmmaking Thesis and Film III classes last week.
 
Shohan, who is known for her work on American Beauty, I am Legend, Training Day, Constantine and the upcoming Ben Hur, explained how a production designer translates the psychology of the film that lives ‘in the mind of the film director’ into the striking visuals of the movies we see on the screen.

Workshopping scripts from current senior thesis films, Shohan engaged in dialogue with student directors to teach them how to better communicate their own creative visions to production designers.
