Emiy Golloub’s passion for a healthy lifestyle is evident in her career and hobbies. While working full-time as a web-content writer for St. Joseph’s Healthcare System’s marketing and public relations department, Golloub is studying to become a certified yoga instructor through a Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) program in the hopes of teaching yoga to caregivers.

“Working for a healthcare system has opened my eyes to what caregivers really go through on a day-to-day basis,” Golloub said.

Golloub, who graduated from Montclair State University in 2012, was the president of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). Now she is responsible for all digital media for St. Joseph’s. Golloub publishes social media posts and website updates, is responsible for campaign and project planning and project management, and shares stories with her internal and external audiences through press releases and photography.

Golloub stressed that her job is made easier by the people she works with, the job they do and the cohesiveness they have.

“It is a lot easier to wake up every morning and go to work when your job consists of working with people who want to improve the quality of so many lives,” Golloub said. “It’s an honor to be part of a healthcare system that works so closely together.” Golloub views herself as a channel between patients and the surrounding community and St. Joseph’s clinicians to improve people’s lives.

Golloub credited her involvement with the PRSSA and the guidance of one of her professors, Larry Weiner, to her route of healthcare communications.

“He (Weiner) provided the opportunity to work with real clients so that by the time I graduated college I had a little over three years of work experience,” Golloub said. “His passion for public relations and for his students to succeed was evident.”

For now, Golloub will continue to balance becoming a certified yoga instructor with her work at St. Joseph’s. She is also a member of The Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development, which is part of the American Hospital Association. Golloub will be attending their national conference in October in Washington DC.

Golloub was accepted to George Washington University to pursue a master’s of public health degree to further her professional career of helping people live healthy. She will start online classes this January.

I always wanted to be the one to provide information and motivation for others to live a healthy lifestyle,” Golloub said.
