Montclair State Filmmakers Showcase at the Montclair Film Festival

A showcase of short films produced by undergraduate students majoring in Filmmaking at the School of Communication and Media will be featured at the annual Montclair Film Festival. The 90 minute student showcase called New Visions from MSU will be presented on Friday, May 8, 7:30 p.m., at the Clairidge Cinema, 486 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair. Join us in celebrating the creative talent of Montclair State filmmaking students at the world-renowned festival, in the heart of downtown Montclair. Purchase tickets here.

The Montclair Film Festival (MFF) which runs May 1-10, is non-profit organization existing to nurture and showcase the talents of filmmakers from around the world. The Festival will create a cultural focal point in the Township of Montclair that unites, empowers, educates and celebrates our region’s diverse community and robust artistic heritage. This year’s festival features over 135 feature and short films and will, for the first time, include competitions and audience awards, to be presented on Saturday, May 9 at the MFF’s Inaugural Filmmaker Awards Ceremony.
The festival also features MFF Conversation Series, presented via the Audible Listening Lounge, the MFF Conversation Series includes discussions with film artists, writers, producers, etc., including actors Richard Gere (moderated by Stephen Cobert) and Patrick Wilson, directors Steve McCarthy, Abigail Disney and Barbara Kopple…to name just a few.
