St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital to Partner With MSU PRSSA to Help Promote “Joy in Childhood Foundation”

Thanks to a grant from Dunkin Donuts, the Paterson based St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital will be able to create a number of communication tools to help generate greater awareness for its “Joy in Childhood Foundation.” As part of that effort, the foundation will partner with the SCM PRSSA (Public Relations Students Society of America) to create two video Public Service Announcements, and the PRSSA will also generate ongoing press to keep the local communities apprised of the foundation’s work.
The grant will help the hospital fund 350 hours of art and music therapy for the kids at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. Providing art and music therapy assists children with coping, helps to normalize their environment, and serves as a distraction from pain or anxiety throughout their hospitalization.
One of the videos will be an internal project and goal of that project is to celebrate the impact of the current grant, while the second video will announce the foundation’s aim to offer animal-assisted therapy.
