Hallie Jackson Awarded 2019 Du Mont Broadcaster of the Year
NBC News Chief White House Correspondent and MSNBC Host Hallie Jackson to Receive the Allen B. Du Mont Broadcaster of the Year Award

The award will be presented to Jackson by SCM Director Keith Strudler and retired SCM Associate Professor Marc Rosenweig on Thursday, November 21, at 6 pm in the School’s Presentation Hall, followed by a conversation between Jackson and Strudler where they will discuss her career, the state of the American press, and events in Washington. The event is free and open to the public.
Jackson joined NBC News in 2014 after serving as a national correspondent for Hearst Television in Washington, D.C. During the 2016 Republican presidential primary campaign she landed exclusive interviews with then candidates Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Ben Carson and Marco Rubio. Jackson currently anchors “MSNBC Live” weekday mornings at 10 a.m. ET. She previously was a reporter at WFSB-TV in Hartford, Ct. and WBOC-TV in Salisbury, MD. She is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a BA in political science.
The Allen B. Du Mont Broadcast of the Year Award was first presented in 1982. It honors an individual who has distinguished him/herself in the field of radio, television, or digital media. The award is in recognition of Allen B. Du Mont, an early television inventor and programmer.
Over the years, Dumont honorees have included NBC Nightly News and Dateline NBC anchor Lester Holt, Inside Edition anchor Deborah Norville, ABC News “Nightline” anchor Byron Pitts, and sportscaster Ian Eagle.
