Film Student Shows at Cannes

When Montclair State film student Jamison M. LoCascio received the news that his film Track 3 was a Festival de Cannes selection, he was so excited that he started calling cast and crew members and was late for cinematography class. But his professor did not mind.

LoCascio has been a standout student from the beginning, with previous films showing at festivals such as the Manhattan Film Festival and the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival.

But when he first completed Track 3, he knew he had something really special. The film tells the story of two estranged sisters attempting to board the last train out of their city in the midst of a viral epidemic.

“We hit the ground running in the festival circuit and decided that we should try to go big as possible we really believe in the work we did,” said LoCascio.

Besides Cannes, Track 3 is also an official selection of the Academy Awards qualifying Palm Springs International Film Festival 2014.”We look forward to continuing our push to get Track 3 on as many screens as we can.”  LoCascio’s films have premiered in prestigious film festivals around the world including the Festival de Cannes,  the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, the Palm Springs International Film Festival, the Manhattan Film Festival and the Screen Actors Guild Short Film Showcase. His films have also been nominated for several awards including a Maverick Movie Award and best short film categories.  Jamison’s recent work “Libby” starred 3-time Emmy nominated actress Colleen Zenk and was distributed worldwide on DVD.
