Mar 5, 2020 @9:00am | Out of the Fields: Mapping and Understanding Labor Exploitation in the Food Industry (Part 1)
Posted in: Resources
“Out of the Fields,” an all day MIGHT event, focuses on preventing the abuse, exploitation, and trafficking associated with food production. It brings together advocates and experts to discuss human rights abuses, including forced labor and sexual harassment, in the U.S. agricultural industry. In Part 1, participants discuss the historical underpinnings of labor exploitation in the US, bringing together scholars and activists in a roundtable discussion, including representatives of the Alliance for Fair Food (AFF) and the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW), as well as Montclair State scholars.
