Our Facilities
Each facility has fully air-conditioned units with options of single or double bedrooms. Each room has a full-sized bed, and the units include two shared bathrooms, a furnished living room, and a kitchen. All utilities, including high-speed internet and Wi-Fi, are covered in the housing cost. Additionally, non-Montclair State students will have access to on-campus parking. Interns will be placed in shared apartments with up to three other interns from various organizations.
The Village Apartments, Hawks Crossing, and Franklin Street are all options for aspiring summer interns. All three are conveniently located near the NJTransit Montclair-Boonton train line that makes stops in Newark, Secacus, and Penn Station NYC. To qualify for Montclair State University’s Intern Housing, applicants must be at least 18 years old and provide proof of current enrollment at a college or university. Additionally, a sponsorship letter on official company letterhead is required. Both documents must be submitted as part of the application process.
The cost, regardless of building, is $330.00 per person per week. The minimum amount of time that can be reserved is 4 weeks, with the maximum amount of time being 10 weeks. Intern housing with Montclair State University has a final move-out date of:
- The Village Apartments: Tuesday, August 5
- Hawks Crossing: Tuesday, August 5
- Franklin Street Hall: Friday, August 15
A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 is required to secure your reservation. The remaining balance must be paid in full by the move-in date. If you apply after Tuesday, May 1, full payment will be required at the time of submission.
Once your full payment has been processed, you will receive your room assignment and a Welcome Letter containing important details to help you prepare for move-in.
Intern Housing
Montclair State University and Bloomfield College are excellent locations to host summer interns due to their prime locations, strong academic environments, and access to industry connections. Situated in northern New Jersey, both institutions offer proximity to New York City, providing interns with networking opportunities and exposure to major industries. Additionally, both campuses are easily accessible via public transportation, making them convenient and attractive destinations for interns seeking professional growth.
Corporate Sponsorship
Montclair State University requires all interns applying for summer housing to have a corporate sponsorship, regardless of whether the employer contributes to housing costs. Interns must submit their housing applications independently and provide official documentation from their employer verifying their internship, including their name, employment dates, and supervisor’s contact details. Sponsors may be contacted if interns violate university policies, which could result in removal from housing. If an internship ends early, the sponsor must notify the university, and the intern will have 48 hours to vacate campus housing. No refunds will be provided in cases of early termination.
