This week-long pre-college honors course explores the principles of leadership and world-building, empowering students to envision and create a more just and sustainable future. Through the lens of social movements and community engagement, students will learn how leaders drive meaningful change by reimagining systems and fostering innovative solutions to complex challenges. Participants will visit key sites in Newark, Paterson, and New York City to study the strategies of historical and contemporary leaders who shaped their communities. Interactive workshops, immersive field trips, and collaborative project-based learning will guide students in designing actionable plans for world-building—whether addressing local issues or tackling global challenges. By the end of the course, students will leave equipped with the tools and insights needed to become visionary leaders and change-makers in their own communities and beyond!
Leadership for the 21st Century will run during Session II: Sunday, July 20 – Saturday, July 26, 2025.
