Are you ready to sit in the driver’s seat and learn what it takes to make product related decisions in the $1.79 trillion global apparel market? Have you ever wondered what it would take to succeed, what knowledge you should have, and what types of career opportunities might be available to you in fashion merchandising? During the Fashion Merchandising Pre-college Summer Program, you will collaborate in teams to plan and execute a six-month buying plan, which you will share with your peers and industry professionals and faculty by the end of the program. Spend a week with us here at Montclair State University immersing yourself in fashion merchandising!
What else will you do?
In this program you will:
- Learn how to competitively shop in the marketplace on a trip to NYC.
- Learn all about how we select fashion apparel collections based on the needs and interests of our customers.
- Research current market and fashion trends.
- Develop strategy and financial information for a six-month buying plan.
- Plan your apparel collection for your customer.
- Learn about the various career opportunities in fashion merchandising and gain insights from fashion industry leaders.
Fashion Merchandising will run during Session II: Sunday, July 20 – Saturday, July 26, 2025.
