This weeklong pre-college honors course explores the diverse dimensions of creativity through a blend of classroom sessions, field trips, and mentorship opportunities. High school students will engage with design thinking, artistic expression, technological innovation, and urban design while visiting iconic sites in New York City, such as MoMA, the High Line, and tech innovation hubs. Guided by Montclair State University faculty and honors students, participants will benefit from peer mentorship, gaining insight into college-level academic and creative practices. Through hands-on workshops and collaborative projects, students will develop creative solutions to real-world challenges, culminating in a final project focused on social impact. This course emphasizes creativity as a tool for innovation, personal growth, and positive societal change.
Creativity in New York City will run during Session I: Sunday, July 13 – Saturday, July 19, 2025.
