Prof. Ernest Ma granted emeritus status
Posted in: Physics
On October 23, 2019, Prof. Tzu Chiang (Ernest) Ma was conferred emeritus status by the Montclair State University Board of Trustees. Thirteen other Montclair State faculty were similarly honored that day. Following the induction at the Board of Trustees meeting, the professors were celebrated at a luncheon attended by fellow emeriti faculty, guests, and University administrators.
Professor Ma joined Montclair State in 1983 (initially in the Department of Physics and Geoscience), following the completion of his PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Over his 36 year tenure, Ernest served as a Physics instructor and helped train generations of physics students. He contributed research and scholarly works in the areas of physics education and solid state physics.
Following the spring 2019 semester, Prof. Ma was celebrated by his CSAM colleagues during a retirement party.
Congratulations Ernie—from all your colleagues in the Department of Physics and Astronomy!
