As part of our ongoing efforts to keep your personal information and university accounts secure, please take a moment to review these important reminders.

These simple steps can go a long way in protecting you from phishing, fraud, and other online threats:

  1. Never accept an unsolicited Duo Push or Duo phone call
If you receive a DUO prompt you didn’t initiate, deny it and report it. Someone may be trying to access your account. You should also reset your NetID password immediately
  2. Never enter your NetID and password into Google Forms or Microsoft Forms
We will never ask you for your password via email or an online form. When in doubt, don’t enter your credentials!
  3. Ignore unsolicited job offers sent to your email
Scammers often send fake job offers to steal your information. Use Handshake for legitimate job opportunities.
  4. Only use the Duo Mobile App to verify your logins
Do not approve DUO calls or use third-party tools—stick with the Duo Mobile app for the most secure experience.

If you ever receive a suspicious message or notice unusual activity, please report it immediately to phishfiles@montclair.edu or utilize the Phishing Alert Button (PAB).
