Through a partnership between Montclair and Paterson Public Schools, OSM is establishing Eastside High School as a University-Assisted full-service community school. As the community hub, Eastside will provide wrap-around services such as free healthy meals, health care, academic support interventions, mental health counseling and referral services, and other tailored services before, during, and after school for students and families.

Paterson ESL Program

The Paterson ESL Program was specifically designed to address a pressing need within the community. This 10-week program, led by an exceptional ESL-certified instructor, has made a significant difference in the lives of our students. The ESL program is held on Saturdays, for a period of 2 hours each session, allowing students to participate without conflicting with their weekday commitments. Paterson Harm Reduction Initiative

Paterson has one of the nation’s highest rates of opioid and substance misuse and overdose fatality. Through additional support from the Open Society Foundations and Vital Strategies, Montclair has harnessed the resources of its Social Work and Justice Studies programs to work with a network of community organizations and partners to provide critical harm reduction awareness, education, and training to community and faith-based leaders who are at the front line of the epidemic.

Paterson One Square Mile Rapid Response Community ReGrant Program

The Paterson One Square Mile Rapid Response Community ReGrant Program is a vital component of the One Square Mile initiative, generously funded by the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation through Montclair State University. The inaugural grant cycle provided assistance to community-based organizations in the 4th and 5th Wards of Paterson who are at the frontlines of addressing community needs but may face resource constraints when applying for larger grants.
