Red Hawks edge Connecticut College 1-0 in double overtime to advance in NCAA Sectional Tournament

Montclair State’s Kaila Fasano (No. 23) scores the winning goal against Connecticut College in the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Sectional Tournament.

Senior forward Kaila Fasano scored with 51 seconds remaining in the second overtime period as Montclair State University advanced to the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Sectional Tournament with a 1-0 victory over Connecticut College at MSU Soccer Park on November 16.

Fasano’s 15th goal of the season sent the Red Hawks (19-1-2) to the "Sweet 16" of the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year. Montclair State will face Lynchburg College in the Sectional Semifinals on November 22 at 1:30 p.m. at Messiah College in Grantham, Pennsylvania. The Red Hawks will be joined by sectional host Messiah College and Nazareth College in the four-team bracket.
