Montclair State University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams punched their tickets to the NCAA Tournament last weekend, with each program capturing the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship in consecutive days.

Earning their first NJAC Championship since the 2002-2003 season, the men’s basketball team outlasted Ramapo College in a 91-85 overtime victory on Sunday behind 28 points from junior forward Jacob Morales and 25 points from senior guard Mike Jackson.

The men’s team will host the opening two rounds of the 64-team, single-elimination tournament beginning Friday, March 7, when they will take on Utica University in the first round at 6 p.m.
