University welcomed students and families for two Accepted Student Days

Having received a record-breaking number of applications from prospective students this year, Montclair State University hosted two Accepted Student Days this spring, hoping that turns into a record number of future Red Hawks.
Over the course of both days, Montclair welcomed a total of 2,743 students and their guests, bringing the total number of visitors on Accepted Student Days to 8,040. Of the accepted students, 169 visited from out of state.
On hand to welcome students were hundreds of faculty, staff, student ambassadors and volunteers, helping out with information sessions, tours, a student services fair and a “majors expo” designed to help students think about what they might want to major in.
“Accepted Student Day was an interactive and, most of all, fun opportunity to learn more about my major, the campus, and everything Montclair has to offer,” said Eva C. of Bergen County. “I can’t wait to start my fall semester at such a great university!”
Students trying to decide whether Montclair is the school for them were also treated with ice cream trucks, a DJ and dancing, and, of course, Rocky the Red Hawk, who welcomed them with outstretched wings.
“Our reputation for student success and making it easier for students to apply to Montclair have resulted in a record number of applications,” says Jordanna Maziarz, Director of Undergraduate Admissions. “We look forward to welcoming many of them back in the fall as students!”
