The Montclair State community will celebrate a momentous occasion in the life of the University with the Investiture of Jonathan GS Koppell as its ninth president on Thursday, September 15, 2022.
The day begins with a campus festival at 11:30 a.m. and an outdoor event at 1 p.m. with public speakers at the historic Amphitheater, after which the president and other dignitaries will proceed to Memorial Auditorium, where Koppell, who has served as the University’s president since August 2021, will be officially invested by the Board of Trustees.
The campus will welcome dignitaries – presidents and representatives from other universities, as well as state, county and local elected officials – for the ceremony. A festival celebrating the University’s programs and public service partnerships will take place on the Alumni Green in front of Cole Hall and a campus-wide reception will immediately follow the ceremony outside of Memorial Auditorium.
There will be a Watch Party with lunch provided for students at the Student Center, where they can watch the livestream of the ceremony. In order to make it easier for students to attend, classes will not be held that day.
The event will be livestreamed and will not only be shown at the Student Center but also at Presentation Hall in the School of Communication and Media. For more information visit the Investiture website.
