The campus community and Montclair State University alumni are invited to celebrate the University’s annual giving day, this year called “One Day for Montclair,” on Thursday, April 27.
One Day for Montclair, which coincides with World’s Fair Day, includes fundraising challenges and is designed for the campus community to come together to celebrate the contributions that allow Montclair to provide increased opportunities to help students follow their dreams through the creation of scholarships and programs, says Director of Annual Giving Kara Baldwin Brennan ’92.
“One Day for Montclair is an opportunity for everyone – alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and friends to come together on ONE DAY to do something special. The day is about participation,” says Brennan. “When we all come together, we are raising our hands to say we believe in the tremendous gift of higher education and the amazing opportunities here at Montclair. Everyone can take part.”
World’s Fair Day includes performances, entertainment, a DJ, a photo booth, food trucks, and as part of One Day for Montclair, the Class of 2022 will be tabling to raise funds for its class gift as well as for scholarships, Brennan says. Rocky will be handing out lollipops with #1Day4Montclair and a QR code on them to help spread the word.
Over the last seven years, the campus community has raised more than $500,000 for scholarships and programs during this annual giving day.
As part of the fun this year, the Office of Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement is asking students to get involved by donating what they would spend on a cup of coffee – but they don’t have to forgo their java. There will be free Dunkin’ Donuts coffee on hand for those donating on campus and $5 off Java Love Coffee Roasting, Co., coffee for those donating online.
