CSI-NY, The Good Doctor and the Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyes on Me actor Hill Harper is the keynote speaker for the 9th Annual Statewide Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Empowerment Conference on Thursday, July 29, 2021, hosted by the Future College Graduate Academy at Montclair State University.
More than 300 EOF first-year scholars from colleges and universities throughout the State of New Jersey will hear Harper address them via Zoom. In addition to Hill Harper, the conference includes breakout sessions focusing on first-year college transition as well as a statewide “EOF Has Talent” Showcase.
In addition to his award-winning acting career, Harper is a best-selling author, entrepreneur, health and wellness ambassador/educator and philanthropist. Harper recently made headlines by launching the Black Wall Street app, aimed at empowering investors of color.
The EOF conference will be attended by scholars from Montclair State University, Rider University, Georgian Court University, Caldwell University and William Paterson University. The conference provides opportunities for incoming students to engage academically and socially as they prepare for their first year of college. Since 1968, EOF has made college attainable for thousands of highly motivated low-income scholars.
The event begins at 9 a.m. on Thursday via Zoom and is free. Montclair State community members who want to register can email Daniel Jean, assistant provost for Special Programs, at
