Just in time for the start of the fall semester, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy’s Executive Order 175 allows higher education institutions to offer more classes and student activities in person, effective immediately, under Stage 2 of the state’s reopening plan.
In addition, the State of New Jersey is also now permitting campuses to offer indoor dining, to reopen computer labs, and to reopen and to provide recreational activities in person to the same degree they are allowed elsewhere, in accordance with state and federal safety guidelines.
The Governor’s action means that Montclair State can move forward with its planned fall schedule of courses that was created with the expectation that the State would enter Stage 3 before the first day of classes, August 25.
“We are now able to move forward with the fall schedule of courses that were carefully planned by all the colleges and schools. All of the related safety protocols, as described in the University’s Restart Plan, will be fully operational for all campus instruction and other activities,” President Susan A. Cole said on Thursday (August 13).
Students will receive confirmation of the formats, also called “modalities”, associated with their courses (whether they are online, hybrid or in-person) through NEST.
More details are available on the Red Hawk Restart website.
All students as well as employees, visitors and contractors, are expected to take COVID-19 safety training no later than August 24.
Anyone coming to campus must first utilize the online Hawk Check self-screening tool within 6-to-12 hours before arriving.
