In honor of the members of our campus community who are active in our armed services, or who are veteran service members, the University offers the following programming for Veteran and Military Student Recognition Week:

Monday, November 10 – Flag Raising

Free
Open to the Public
12:00 noon
Student Center Flag Pole
Rain Location – Student Center Ballrooms
Sponsors – Office of Veteran and Military Resources and the Student Veterans Association

The sixth annual Veteran and Military Student Recognition Week will be opened with a flag raising ceremony, carried out by members of the Montclair State Student Veterans Association.  Veterans from the campus community, as well as those from the Four Seasons at Great Notch, will be present, representing conflicts spanning our nation’s history.


Tuesday, November 11 – Operation Gratitude Veterans Day Card Writing

This year, in honor of Veteran’s Day, the Center for Student Involvement Volunteer Resource Center is having an Operation Gratitude Veteran’s Day Card Writing event on Veteran’s Day. The entire University campus is welcome to join us!

Special Guest Speaker – Bob Max, WWII Veteran

NJ native and WWII veteran Bob Max shares his story at the Battle of the Bulge and his time in a Nazi Labor Camp.

The George Segal Gallery, in partnership with the Holocaust Council of Greater MetroWest, welcomes guest speaker, Bob Max, for a special gallery talk on Veterans Day, November 11.


Wednesday, November 12 – Military and Veteran Admissions Night

Time: 6:30 p.m.
Location: University Hall Conference Center
Co-sponsors: Office of Veteran and Military Resources, Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions

All United States veterans and service members are invited to attend our “Military and Veteran Admissions Night” on Wednesday, November 12th at 6:30pm!  If you are interested in pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree, this event will provide you with the following options:

  • Learn about Montclair State’s 300 + academic programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Receive one-on-one counseling to discuss your educational background and potential academic options.
  • Discover your specific eligibility for financing your education through the GI Bill.
  • Learn more about the application process and receive an application fee waiver.

Friday, November 14 – Yoga for Veterans
