The Hebrew program at Montclair State is one of the only college-level Hebrew programs in the state of New Jersey. Students can take classes at the beginning and intermediate levels. The focus is on building student written and spoken communication skills in modern Hebrew, and classes emphasize learning authentic language use through dialogues, interviews, and everyday conversation. Students connect with local and international Hebrew speakers by doing interviews, and in regular individual journaling, students are encouraged to find links between their Hebrew courses, their personal lives, and their college majors from across the university.
