Student Spotlight: Falling in love with Math
Jessica Church was able to rekindle her love of mathematics here at Montclair

Jessica Church is a Family Science and Human Development major in the Education Program with a K-6 focus. This is her account of how she fell out of, and back into, love with mathematics during her time here at Montclair:
I always enjoyed math growing up, but in high school when covid happened I lost my passion for it. Coming to Montclair and taking elementary education required math classes, I fell in love with math all over again. I remembered how much fun it is, and I realized how much my brain missed the challenge and the puzzle that math is. I also realized how much of a difference I can make as a teacher in the future. By teaching math in a fun and interactive way it can make sense to all students.
