Doc Program Graduates Present at Conference
The alum’s presentation focused on a support system for precalculus instructors to teach from a problem-based curriculum program.

Drs. Jessica Nuzzi and Victoria Bonaccorso, recent graduates from the Mathematics Education Doctoral Program, presented at the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators annual conference in New Orleans, LA about their experiences leading professional learning with undergraduate mathematics instructors. Drs. Nuzzi and Bonaccorso shared about the emerging outcomes of the work, including enhanced communication between instructors and graduate assistants, increased formative feedback for students, and improved in-class discourse aligned to the 5 Practices for Orchestrating Productive Mathematical Discussions (Stein et al., 2008). This work is part of the Cultivating Research, Innovation, and Talent: Opportunity Meets Innovation Challenge (OMIC) Grant, funded by the State of New Jersey.
