Posted in: Faculty and Student Research, Students and Alumni
Doctoral student Denish Akuom and his supervisor, Dr. Steven Greenstein, recently gave a research presentation at the 44th annual PME-NA conference in Nashville, TN. Their presentation, co-authored with Dr. Eileen Fernández, was titled “Mathematical Making in Teacher Preparation: Research at the Intersections of Identity, Pedagogy, and Design.” This project explored the potential benefits of a novel Making experience within mathematics teacher preparation that the team hypothesized would inform the pedagogical and curricular thinking of prospective teachers of elementary mathematics.
