Matthew’s research is on comparing cognitive demand in popular and specialized textbooks. He found that Beast Academy 5D had higher demand expectations than Glencoe Pre-algebra, and also posited an additional dimension to the existing demand framework: procedures with potential connections. Matthew conducted this study as part of his original research project for Dr. DiNapoli’s Mathematics Curricula (MATH 816) class. Well done, Matthew!
